This tip-top chap🌱, I have just discovered, has changed his name! Now no longer Pileostegia viburnoides, but instead Hydrangea viburnoides. Every day is indeed a school day! A small bit of learning for us all on this the last of the plant mini series of the 🫖Elevenses for now... But mourn not dear followers, I have no doubt it will return!🌱🥂

Thriving against almost any wall, even north-facing if not shaded deeply from above, this delightful climber is happy in most soils as long as not very or constantly wet. Evergreen with flowers to connect to your hydrangeas, leaves to connect to your Viburnum, which of course I know you now all have after the earlier video on Viburnum davidii, with evergreen presence and new tips of peachy tones, what more could this plant do for you I ask?

What a winter treat we have for todays 🫖elevenses!🫖 (Bit of a delay today- Meta scheduling seems to be a miss- a lunchtime session it is today!) Its almost the end of the work week, grab yourself a mug of something warm and join me as we relish in the winter glory of Hellebores!🌱

These particular delights form the 'Ice 'n Roses' selection are just the treat for any winter blues, with blooms for months on end until mid spring at least they also delight us by facing upwards in the sunshine- what a boon!

Site somewhere sunny or shady with some decent garden soil and you will be delighted year round with deep glossy foliage and stunning blooms to boot! What is not to love my plant friends?

Welcome to one of the many choices for a perennial cornflower- Centaurea 'Jordy' for today's 🫖Elevenses!🫖

Adored by pollinators and gardeners alike this is a deep plumy scarlet purple with delicate fine-cut petals. This robust little number will flower usually twice a year- Huzzah! 🥂

Place in some sun and decent drainage, this plant will romp away growing to around 60cm wide and high, ready to be split to create more purple-blooming plants as it matures- in fact if you have any perennials you want to lift and divide, now is the time!
